Why do you need a pedicure?
A pedicure is a therapeutic beauty treatment which is designed to improve – or maintain – the appearance and condition of the feet and toenails and keeping your feet healthy is a good thing to do. Pedicure relaxes your foot, removes the dirt from nails and prevents excessive cracks and dry skin. Therefore, moisturization of feet is a good habit for healthy feet. Besides, the foot massages that comes with the pedicure improves the blood circulation in your feet.

Wounds take much longer to heal for those people who have diabetes. Since pedicure involves procedures that can cause tiny wounds, most women with diabetes do not opt for a pedicure. If you have diabetes, talk to your doctor before getting a pedicure.
What to expect during a pedicure treatment.
Cleanse and soak
Your spa pedicure will begin with a therapeutic foot bath or spa.
Cut, file and shape
Your nail technician will then remove one of your feet from the footbath so that they can trim and file each of your toenails into an attractive and uniform shape.
Cuticle care
Your therapist will gently push the cuticles back, to make them neater.
Exfoliation
Therapist will then use an exfoliant cream and a foot file to remove any dead skin cells present on the bottoms of your feet.
Moisturise and Massage
You will then be treated to a pleasurable, unwinding reflexology-based foot massage.
Polish application
I have fungal skin or nail condition?
You should inform Boujiee Salon ahead of your pamper day or spa break to avoid potential disappointment. We reserve the right to refuse pedicures to clients with those conditions, for hygiene and/or health and safety reasons.
What is a Manicure?
A manicure is a cosmetic beauty treatment for the fingernails and hands performed at Boujiee Salon. It consists of filing and shaping the free edge of nails, pushing and clipping (with a cuticle pusher and cuticle nippers) any nonliving tissue (but limited to the cuticle and hangnails), treatments with various liquids, massage of the hand, and the application of fingernail polish.

Gel polish is made up of acrylic monomers and oligomers that bond together when placed under UV light. This process is called curing, and in a matter of seconds, the once-liquid gel turns into a hard, chemical-resistant coating. Thanks to its chemical resistance, gel polish can’t be easily wiped away with acetone and must be filed and/or soaked in acetone for several minutes to loosen the hardened gel from the nail. It’s a bit of a process. On average, gel polish nails last two to three weeks.

What is Polygel?
Polygel is essentially the lovechild of acrylic and gel, combining both their good qualities but leaving out all the bad stuff. There are two main similarities between Polygel and acrylic nails. Just like acrylic, Polygel enhancements don’t usually need to be removed, the nail growth area can simply be filled-in with more Polygel. Secondly, Polygel nails can also be applied on top of a nail form and sculpted to create an extension of the nail, just like acrylic. Polygel manicures tend to outshine acrylic nails for these reasons. “It has the strength of acrylic, but is lighter, stronger, and more flexible. Because of this, Polygel nails are less likely to break off. It is odorless and no chemicals are released into the air with application.

After approximately 4 to 5 weeks, it will be time to have your Polygel manicure filled-in. Similar to the maintenance of acrylic nails, Polygel nails typically don’t need to be fully removed and reapplied during each visit. Instead, they are simply filled-in for maintenance (Boujiee Salon will advise when it is time to fully remove your Polygel nails for a fresh application). During a fill-in, the Polygel remains on the nail and is filed down. Next, more Polygel is added near the cuticle to fill in the area where the nail has grown over time

PolyGel is not a soak off gel so the best way to remove it is by filing it off. Because it is a soft gel, it is very easy to file off using an e-file or by hand.

What is Acrylic?
Acrylic nails are an extension on your natural nail. In order for them to be applied, your natural nail bed is filed down to create a rough surface for the glue to be able to adhere the nail extension to. Once this is done, acrylic liquid and powder are mixed together to create the acrylic that is applied on top to mould the artificial nail. This will be shaped and buffed, and then polished with either regular or gel polish.

We recommend that you get a fill once there is a visible gap between your cuticle and your existing acrylic set, about every 2 to 3 weeks. Once you have filled your acrylics 3 or 4 times, it’s probably time to get a new set.

What is Slickpour?
SlickPour combines acrylic and gel polish into one system to give you strong, healthy nails with high shine colour finish SlickPour has vitamins and minerals in the base coat which is good for your nails.”
It also lasts longer, giving you 3 weeks instead of 2 because it’s a harder product on the nail.
Removal (Soak-off)
In order for the dip powder to loosen, you will need to soak your nails for at least 10 to 20 minutes.

What is a BIAB?
Builder In A Bottle™ BIAB is a FILE OFF builder gel ideal for creating strong overlays and as a strengthening barrier for natural nails. The BIAB is a lot thinner when applied to the nail so it isn’t as heavy on the natural nail helping them grow longer and keeping your natural nails healthier.

BIAB is simply refilled instead of soaked off unlike regular gel polish. The refill process requires coloured gel to be filed off to allow for reapplication of BIAB to fill the new growth of the natural nail.
Removal
This product must be removed with the TGB E-file (if you are E-File trained) or filed off by hand. BIAB can also be fully soaked off as opposed to hard gel needing to be filed off.
